We had a record number of participants, 72 players, play in last night’s H.O.R.S.E tournament for our Mixed Game Series. JonLutsey (John Lutsey) battled RickTheGoodDog for the title in this marathon game that didn’t end until 3:00 AM CDT. This was Lutsey’s first RecPoker title, definitely a good tournament to pick.
At the last minute Chris Moneymaker was unable to play, but we were able to get three time bracelet winner merkle14 (Adam Friedman) to play. Since he lasted until sixth place, several people in the RecPoker Community had a chance to play with him.
Due to the unprecedented turnout and changes PokerStars made to the Home Game structures, the tournament lasted a whopping seven hours. We’ll look at adjustments to make in the future to shorten the time required for limit games.

Way to go @JonLutsey ! I told you you were due for a victory! What a marathon, you really earned that REC.POKER pin, great work!
Nice work all. I was done at 8:30 p.m. which gives you a sense of my HORSE skills—or my sleep preferences.
What a fun night! To play with Adam Friedman, a record field, and a back and forth heads up match for well over an hour. Very excited for my first title!
Not many people get to beat the largest field ever PLUS beating a multiple bracelet winner for their first title – quite an accomplishment! You’ll be able to tell everyone about it every time someone asks you about your pin, too, what a win!
Super happy for you Jon… and jealous!
@JonLutsey , great job. It’s an accomplishment just to stay awake that long!!!
My wife was not happy about how late it was, but happy I finally won 1.
