5 Card PLO vs. Steve
Posted by arw on March 21, 2021 at 3:34 pm7 handed, 16 left
UTG and UTG+1 both fold, then the remaining 5 players limp in for 100.
SB = 7500
BB = 6300
HJ = 5500
Cutoff = 2700 — @SteveFredlund
Button = 6000 — hero
Flop is 8h5c2h
sb and bb both check, the highjack bets 100,
Steve is the cutoff who raises to 800 with 1900 behind.
I have 6d7s5h2c4h.
- 76 for an open ender
- — outs are (non-heart 9, 4) — 6 outs for straight
- 54hh for a flush draw
- — outs are (Ah, Kh, Qh, Jh, Th, 9h, 7h, 3h) — 8 outs for flush
- 52 for bottom two pair
- — outs are (5s, 5d, 2d, 2s) — 4 outs for full-house
Thoughts on what I should do vs. Steve’s range in this spot?

i think you should fold against Steve’s top set… but I might be biased 🙂

besides the 88, what were your other 2 cards?
In regards to folding my hand to your top set,
There are good outs and bad outs. In reality,
— I have bottom two pair
— an open ended straight draw
— a weak flush draw
Against a rock such as @SteveFredlund , who always has it………………………it isn’t always optimal to put money in with weak holdings and draws against them. I estimate that I have about 50% equity in an ideal spot (no blockers) vs. top set.

I honestly don’t remember; could have been a number of things but would have had to include another pair, double suited, or some connected stuff. I know I didn’t have any other draws on that board so must have been over cards.
