  • Bubble Time!

    Live action!
    13 left 12 get paid
    buyin $250
    Min cash $471
A few stacks around 100k no one is really short.
    V-160k
    H-140k
    Blinds 5k-10k-10k
Fold to SB-V raised to 20k
    Bb-H call with 6h5h
    Pot-50k
    Flop Jh4h3c
    V- bet 20k
    H- raise all-in 110k
    V- call w/74o

My thought process here was I’m not here just min cash(especially with not even doubling the buyin). I have a ton of fold equity when we are on the stone bubble and if he calls the jam I have a lot of outs.

My shove might have been to aggressive but I don’t know what to think about V play.

    Thoughts?

Gross. While we’ll have quite a few shoves in this spot pre, we mostly want to focus on a linear, high card/blocker approach here. So this hand falls pretty squarely in a calling range in my mind.

The flop is both gorgeous and gross. We have so much equity. I think the big question in this hand is do we call or do we shove once V continues?

In favor of shoving: we have 6 high, a beautiful combo draw giving us tons of outs in most situation, ICM shoves are better than ICM calls, and we have a ton of fold equity on this bubble. Hands as strong as TT-55 may consider folding and that is a beautiful thing.

In favor of flatting: we’re losing to everything, we’re on the bubble and don’t want to blow this up, our opponent is uncapped, and we’re in position.

I’ve run this in the solver and without the bubble factor, this is a pure 100% call. That seems to be because we have position, the villain has a lot of strong hands, and we should have no problem getting the money in on later streets if need be (low SPR). But with the bubble dynamic in play, I don’t mind the more aggressive action (and I’m probably taking it too). We should get a lot more folds than in a normal situation. And we’re in good shape when behind unless our hearts are covered.

I’d be curious for other takes, but I’m also shoving here. As to villain, this is a rather disastrous call IMO, even if they did win the pot in this exact hand.
