My 4bet in SB got called by the 3bettor
Posted by monkiesystem on April 20, 2021 at 10:05 pmI’m trying to run a GTO+ solve and am looking for ideas for V’s range. With 61bb eff folds to CO who opens to 2.2bb. BU raises to 6.5bb. Hero in SB 4bets to 14bb. CO folds. BU calls.
What do you think is a typical calling range here for BU in an ACR $16.50 tournament?
Since I’m entering these ranges into GTO+ and maybe Flopzilla I can use percentage weights on V’s holdings. Since I have virtually no idea of his 5bet jam range I used 33%AA, JJ,KQs; 50% KK,QQ,AKo,AQs; 67% AKs for one range, and made changes to see how much the solution changes. It seems really sensitive to minor differences in the ranges.
The only thing about this that seems certain to me is that there are no hands that we can enter into the range with a 100% weight. Every single hand in his 3bet range that he might defend against a 4bet could be folded, called, or 5bet.
It’s not really relevant to this discussion, but we had KsKc and the flop came AdAs7h.

My best guess is that in position 4bet flatting range would include AA, AQs, AJs KQs and ATs at a high frequency. Hands that may be a lower frequency flat (and mostly 5bet jam): KK, AKs, AKo, QQ.

Thanks I’ll plug that in!

A really important piece here is the sizing you and your opponent used. If you 4bet on the smaller side they can call wider. Otherwise, the above ranges make sense, but I’m assuming this is going to be a really weird sim that you would be running due to the very tight ranges that each player will have.
