Hi gang, a few of you have said some really nice thing to me recently about how much they have enjoyed engaging with RecPoker, but there hasn’t been a good way for me to share those delightful sentiments with the rest of the RECing Crew – or with the rest of the poker world!

So if you are enjoying yourself with some aspect of our community, please consider writing a few words here and I’d love to share them with the world somehow. Thanks for all your support, you all are a part of what makes RecPoker great!

Rec Poker is the best poker community for getting great learning content in a respectful, professional, friendly atmosphere. If you’re a part time player serious about improving your poker play, the folks at Rec Poker get you. A premium membership costs a fraction of what the other poker training sites cost – and is a better fit for your needs than the other sites, which cater to pro players.

I’m loving Chris Jones’ Deep Dives! I really believe these “workshop” videos that Chris produces every month are better than any other poker instructional videos that I have seen out there. I’ve seen so many range charts for so many stack sizes from every position that they all blend together for me. Seems impossible for me (at least) to memorize all of them. But what Chris is leading us through month by month is really the foundations of where these charts come from. He does establish general rules based on position, stack size, etc., but with the tools he is using (especially GTO Wizard) he is showing us the math behind it (by comparing equity graphs and equity realization charts). Now rather than just trying to memorize a range, I’m beginning to understand why the range is shaped like it is, and why a big bet here is successful where a small bet isn’t, or where a small bet is likely enough to get the job done. So while I haven’t memorized a range, I’m learning that I can actually start to construct one in my mind in real time because I understand what factors go into shaping the range (and best bet size). It’s also a lot of fun to participate in the monthly play sessions! I’ve had at least two (but I think more) of my hands reviewed by Dara O’Kearny. Hasn’t always been stellar news for me, but I’m learning a ton from it!

Admittedly a year ago I might not have know what an equity realization graph meant. But since joining REC Poker I’ve slowly built up my knowledge base week by week, by joining in the forums, the study sessions, book reviews, etc.. So if any of these videos seem “over your head” the first time you watch them, trust me, if you stick with it little by little it does all start to come together and make sense. The best part is that there are people here at every level, and even the gurus really seem to enjoy sharing their knowledge, even if they are starting over again with each new community member!
