Hello my fellow adventurers! As I sit at home in the middle of yet another lockdown, I dream about the day I will be able to travel again. My hope is in the not too distant future, borders will open and us poker and travel enthusiasts will be back on the road.

Until then, let’s hear from our members all about your favorite destinations for poker, both domestic and international. Or perhaps where you want to go, a poker dream destination on your bucket list.

So let me start the conversation with my faves:

Internationally, hands down The Irish Poker Open held in Dublin every Spring is some of the most fun I’ve had playing poker and travelling with friends around an awesome country. The buy ins are affordable and the Irish are a fun, raucous, friendly bunch. Perhaps we can get a RecPoker group together for next April!! https://irishpokeropen.com/

Run it Up Reno is an event put on twice a year at the Peppermill Resort and my favorite North American event. Heavy on talent and twitch streamers, you find yourself playing with famous pros and celebrities in a friendly, intimate setting. They have all sorts of fun group activities ranging from NLHE to all sorts of mixed games and themed parties. https://runitup.com/

#1 on my bucket list is Aussie Millions – say no more!!

Haven’t really traveled much to play poker, only time that I did was to play out in Vegas summer of 2019. Was a ton of fun! But I do really want to go to RunItUp Reno at some point.

Playing poker in Dublin in April is definitely on my bucket list and I am saving a few vacation days this year hoping to make it a reality next year.

The Norwegian Championships and the Irish Open take place at the same venue in Dublin in subsequent weeks and I am unsure which one I want to play the most.

Combining a few events from each with sightseeing (road trip) around Ireland with my family would be the ideal Easter holiday in 2022.

I’ve only ever traveled to Vegas for poker. The WSOP is still the main draw for me because I don’t think there is anything like it. But I’ve always been keen to visit a few spots besides Vegas.

    In North America:

    1. I’d love to get to Playground in Montreal, maybe for the WPT there. I’ve heard it is a poker players paradise.

    2. I’m also interested in some of the Caribbean stops, like the Party Poker Millions.

    3. Could be interesting to try to organize some potential gatherings at more regional tours like the MSPT, Heartland etc.

    Globally:

    1. I’m interested in the Irish Poker Open like you mentioned.

    2. I’d love to make it to an EPT stop, preferably Barcelona.

    3. And finally, I doubt I’ll ever make it but I’ve heard amazing things about the Aussie Millions.

Those are my rather fantasy thoughts. Curious to see what others think.

Hello All, Ireland is definitely amazing and a redo every year!! Other great poker travels are Malta and Prague but I really really want to tour around Australia and play and definitely the Aussie Millions!! For now I am hoping with everything I have that Canadians will be able to travel down to the WSOP. We are still unable to travel outside the country 🙁 And for all you Americans you definitely have to come to Poker Playground in Montreal – I don’t think you will find a nicer poker room anywhere in terms of the treatment of players.

Pretty cool group! Fun to see the responses… hopefully some of these we can partner with to become official “RecPoker Road Trips”… if you have connections with venues, contacts, etc, let’s chat and see what we can do! But I love this organic connection of all of you… go and bink tourneys! If interested in the Road Trips we have a brand new website page at rec.poker/roadtrips with 3 planned trips ranging from 1-day (North Dakota) to 6-day (Iowa) to 55-day (Vegas)!

Hi Everyone! I’m planning a trip with a small group to Vegas sometime in late October/early November. We’ll be staying somewhere on the strip but it would be great to meet up with those who may be staying at the Recpoker house while we’re there.

I’ve been to Vegas about a dozen times and I’ve played dailies at Casino Barcelona and Casino Copenhagen as well several other places in the US.

Looking forward to meeting some of you this fall in Vegas and perhaps on other organized trips.

this would be awesome to meet up at the house or wherever you are! We are now going to be there for the entire series so there must be a time we can meet!

Well then l need to get my group together and figure out what dates we will be there. There will at least 4 and as many as 8 of us making the trip. My group will include Daniel Andres better known to you as “dandresg” in the nightly series game and I’m hoping that Mike Butchello (leftie19) will also join us. In other news my home game returns to live play in July. Does anyone here want to make a road trip to Texas????

I would love to meet your crew in Vegas; that would be awesome. Let’s think about a road trip to Texas (or bordering). If we can find a venue/tour going there that wants to partner with us for some promotional stuff we could make it happen… and then cruise in for your home game! What a blast!

    Steve,

There are two card rooms not far from where I live with a third that may be opening soon in my community. The best of them is the Texas Card House is Spring, Tx. It’s a nice room with both games and tournaments. They are planning a poker series later in the year but no details yet. It most likely will be in the fall but would run during the WSOP. Weather in the fall here is amazing! I’ll keep you posted!!
