Hello RecPoker Team! My name is Chris Long, aka LFC in the Twitch and Discord communities. I am 42 years old and have been a high school teacher for 16 years. In addition to that, I had a two year sabbatical to test the waters at playing professional poker.
My poker journey began in 2003 with the Moneymaker Boom like a lot of others. I didn’t really take it too seriously however unitl the advent of Twitch Poker. After watching some streamers for a while, I decided to try out ACR. From a $5 free gift from ACR, through time, patience, and quite frankly some luck, over the course of about 3 years, I was able to spin that into a $50K roll, which prompted the decision to take a shot at being a pro.
On my first official day of being a pro, I won by biggest online score of 13.5K in a Global Poker US Poker Open event. After two years of that, I realized my true calling was in the classroom, which I missed tremendously.
Now, I teach full time, and play poker and study in my spare time. I have studied quite a bit of theory and feel I have a good grasp on how the game works.
My philosophy revolves around getting to know the theory of how the game works down, and using that knowledge to learn how to properly deviate and exploit your opponents in all situations. I feel like this is an asset, combined with my teaching experience that I bring to the RecPoker team. I look forward to working with you in the future!
