Can We Get Away From the Second Nuts?
On Trooper97’s vlog he talks about a hand in which he couldn’t get away from the second nuts. He asks some good questions about it. Could you have gotten away from the second nuts here? Or was this an unavoidable cooler?

The game is 1/3 cash in Vegas. Against an unknown opponent in a 4-way limped pot in the CO we have KsTs. Flop As9s8s $12 (rake taken). The BTN is in the hand.
The first two players check. We check. BTN bets 15, the first two players fold, we call.
The turn is 2c. As9s8s2c $40 (rake taken). We check. BTN bet 25. We call. He states this makes him look like he has a spade in his hand. He does not want to see a spade on the river.
The river is 7s. As9s8s2c7s. $90. We lead out for 50. Villain raise to 100. We raise to 245 all-in with second nuts. The only villain combo beating us is 6s5s.
Villain calls with 6s5s.
Trooper’s assessment is that this was a 1/3 cash game against unknown opponents and that the population of unknown opponents has been pretty soft lately. Villain could have had a number of holdings that we beat. Trooper asks, “What is he (villain) raising with?” He almost has to have 6s5s. Trooper’s states that his story to villain was that he is calling down with Ks. He states that villain should know this and that his raise means, “I have Ks beat.” He states that if he had known the player better he might have realized the only hand villain could have is 6s5s.
Was this a cooler? Or could Trooper have gotten away with a call for 50 more on the river or even a fold?
