    100/200/25 — 9 handed — 36 left

    Blinds + Antes = 525

    Pre-Flop

the UTG+1 player opens to 800 which is 4 bb and 13 bb left.

MP+2 player 3-bets to 2400 which is 12 bb and 31 bb left. (big stack)

I’m dealt AQhh in the cutoff with 4000 chips or 20 bb.

    What is the correct play?

    1) Fold

    2) Call 12 bb with 8 bb left.

    3) Raise All In to 20 bb.

Which of these best represents the UTG players range to go all-in 3-ways?

    1) AA – TT, AK – AJ

    2) AA – 66, AK – A9

    3) AA – 22, AK – A2

Which of these best represents the MP players range to call my 20 bb push?

    1) If 3 ways, AA – TT, AK – AQ

    2) If 3 ways, AA – TT, AK – AT

    3) If 3 ways, AA – 88, AK, A8

Which of these best represents the average REC Home Game players 4-betting range in similar spots?

    1) AA, KK, AK —- (28 combos)

    2) AA, KK, QQ, AK, AQ —- (50 combos)

    3) AA, KK, QQ, JJ, TT, AK, AQ, AJ —- (78 combos)

What is a better stack size to make this 4-bet with? (assuming, they fold sometimes and/or call with worse hands)

    1) It would be better to have 25 bb

    2) It would be better to have 30 bb

    3) It would be better to have 35 bb

It’s always a tough spot when your choice to continue is to cold call a 3-bet or to cold 4-bet. Given the action, I like the option of calling the least. A call would be 60% of our stack. The pot is likely to go 3-ways which would be a pot of about 38bbs (if UTG+1 flats) to 41 bbs (if UTG+1 jams). With only a 20% pot size stack, I can’t imagine ever folding. We should put it all-in if we want to play with hand.

Original raiser is opening from early position with a large raise (4bb) for a significant portion of their stack (24%). UTG+1 seems to be indicating that they are willing to play for stacks. If MP+2 recognizes this, their 3-betting range should be quite strong. AQs is too often dominated against these ranges.

    I prefer a fold.

    Correct play: 1) Fold

I’m going to take a stab at the ranges. I’ll might run the equities later.

    UTG range to go all-in 3-ways: 2) AA-66, AK-A9

MP range to call 20 bb jam: 3) AA-88, AK-A8

REC population 4-bet range: 3) AA, KK, QQ, AK, AQ

Best stack size for 4-bet: 35bb

The answer is easy if you ask “What do I beat?”
Is either one of them calling off with AJs? That’s the strongest hand you beat.
