  • Final Table Hand – every part of this made me uncomfortable on so many levels.

Posted by chappo on July 25, 2021 at 1:58 am

Ok please give me some feedback here.

I literally hated every second of this hand.

The villain to my right who called my open and then calls the 3b and shoves flop was open shoving 50bbs and reshoving over a 2.5bb open on the final table, i figured he was just as likely to have A9, K9 or something like that.

There were 907 runners in the MTT.

    This was the final table.

    My Payout was $120

    Up top was $640

This is likely a big ICM mistake with the short stack on the table. If you could send me the original HH text file, I’d love to go over this hand in my HH review session on Tuesday.

Tough spot. There is a lot of ICM pressure being the middle with 47bb stack, a shorty 10bb stack still left and the steep FT pay jumps.

    Preflop:

Opening TT is standard from MP. It is strong enough to call when HJ 3bets after LJ call. We certainly don’t love it as we’re out of position in a multi-way bloated pot

    Guess at HJ (3bettor) range: TT+, AQo+, AJs+.

Guess at LJ (flat open and 3bet): 99-22, KQs-KTs, QJs, QTs, JTs, AJs-A2s, T9s, 98s

    Flop 9c 3d 4s

HJ cbets 1/3 pot. With an overpair to the board, call seems standard for the Hero. TT is ahead of Ax, but behind JJ+.

LJ jams into two other players. HJ can have all the overpairs. Hero is probably capped at JJ-TT for overpairs. The jam is strong. There are very few available draws on this board. Even given the player profile, would LJ jam with 9x or air into 2 players that have so many overpairs.

Of course, in game it’s hard to fold here. V has been super aggro pre-flop. We have a strong hand for the board. But being aggressive preflop in single raised pots is different than postflop in multiway 3bet pot.
