  Funky Format

  Wasn’t sure where to post this question, so apologies in advance.

  My local poker room has what I think is a funky format on Friday nights, a quasi-freezeout, but not exactly. For $120, you get 50K chips with the BB starting at 200. Everybody gets one $1 chip that entitles them to one and only one rebuy/add-on of 50K chips for $60. Most players wait until they bust and then rebuy at half-price. My inclination is to buy-one-get-one half-price from the get-go and start out with 500BB.

  What strategy makes the most sense to you?
