PokerStars Hand History
Posted by arw on July 13, 2020 at 11:34 pmDoes anyone know how save my hand histories on PokerStars? I’ve searched and haven’t found a solution. As far as I can tell, I don’t see them being saved and I can’t find the folder where they should be saved.
I haven’t played online for awhile but I’m hoping to play some home games and recap some of the hands.
Anyone else have issues with this?

Are you trying to capture hands from the home games? From my research, you cannot save hands in the .net version of PokerStars and would need to have the .com version of the software.

How do you get the .com version and honestly, WTF is wrong with PokerStars?

I think the only way is to VPN to a country where you can download the real money version. Which, IMO, is not worth the cost/risk associated with that.

PokerStars replied that Yes, that is the case, and that Yes I need to move to Mexico or Canada to review a hand. No hand history for play money games.
With .Net, do they give you chances to win real money with play money? If so, that explains it.

In Windows 10 PokerStars supports the Win+G function. This launches the XBox Game Bar. The XBox Game Bar records your screen. You can unmute the mic and voice your comments during recording. This way you have a record of your thought processes. Some of my recordings contain the sound of the poker room “Awwwww….!!!”
Like all Microsoft apps, the Xbox Game Bar is a bit clunky. But hey, whaddya want for nothin’?
You can also use Alt+Win+R to get a direct screen recording.

This is great @MonkieSystem ! You can also use free recording software like OBS or FlashBack Express Recorder for recording longer sessions. This is a great way to track your street-by-street decision-making over time. Keep a file of them to review later, and maybe even send one to @SteveFredlund for the RecPoker panel to review as part of the Group Video Analysis section of the rec.poker shop!

Apparently the Pokerstars client software you need to install in the USA doesn’t allow you to save hand histories at all. A couple of my personal coaching clients have mentioned this issue, and there’s been nothing I can do to help. Seems crazy by Pokerstars but there you go. Really annoying. Shouldn’t affect play on other sites. For folks in the home games that want stats, I save all my home game hand histories (playing in Canada) so I can send you some hands you’ve played while I was at the table. Just let me know. I’m definitely playing tonight and will see anyone who wants to join us in the OPaH Zoom meeting for the game!

If I send in a video recording with a voice-over, I’ll have to be on my best behavior. No more cursing the air blue when V 3-bets me!????

Hahahaha I also have to be on my best behaviour when recording live because I am an easily excitable person both for good and for bad and I’ve been known to let the occasional curse slip out before I know what I’m saying lol – honestly I’m the same when driving!
