Jacob, I forgot to mention in my post that gloves1010 had three bet at 3 times from the blinds previously. That was the primary reason I called. Thanks for response!! I enjoy constructive criticism and the discussion. I think my game is improving but there is so much to learn. When I get a chance I’ll recap the hand where I misclicked against you.

My first question would be where most of us are recreational players and we can’t afford to drop $1500 or more in a tournament, what tournament, under $1,000 buy in, offers the best structure for the money? Also, perhaps we should discuss money savings ideas for those of us on a budget.

I’m arriving Oct 31, around noon, staying until Nov 4th. I’m traveling with leftie19 (Mike Butchello), dandresg (Daniel Andres) and recpoker’s newest member Rick5Aces (Rick Moench). We are playing the $600 Deepstack event starting Nov 1. We’re staying at the Rio, but it would be great if we could meet up while we’re there!!

There are two card rooms not far from where I live with a third that may be opening soon in my community. The best of them is the Texas Card House is Spring, Tx. It’s a nice room with both games and tournaments. They are planning a poker series later in the year but no details yet. It most likely will be in the fall but would run during the WSOP. Weather in the fall here is amazing! I’ll keep you posted!!

Hi Everyone! I’m planning a trip with a small group to Vegas sometime in late October/early November. We’ll be staying somewhere on the strip but it would be great to meet up with those who may be staying at the Recpoker house while we’re there.
I’ve been to Vegas about a dozen times and I’ve played dailies at Casino Barcelona and Casino Copenhagen as well several other places in the US.
Looking forward to meeting some of you this fall in Vegas and perhaps on other organized trips.

Thanks for responding! I did run the range of hands this player could have. Based on past experience with this player I decided to call. The flop was a 3h. The player lead out for a min bet of 50 and I called. The river was Ac. The player checked and I checked behind. He showed K6 off and won the pot. Do we proceed differently if we don’t have a read on our opponent?

Well then l need to get my group together and figure out what dates we will be there. There will at least 4 and as many as 8 of us making the trip. My group will include Daniel Andres better known to you as “dandresg” in the nightly series game and I’m hoping that Mike Butchello (leftie19) will also join us. In other news my home game returns to live play in July. Does anyone here want to make a road trip to Texas????
