Heads up at the end of an MTT is different than other poker. Not only is there a completely different dynamic in the game, but your opponent will probably play differently than you’ve seen him play up to this point.
On the BU/SB you should play the vast majority of your hands. Completing the SB risks being raised off the hand and if the BB is playing with proper aggression he should probably do just that very often.
In my own humble opinion 20bb effective is too deep to start open-shoving. You can still play poker on the flop.
You will have to figure out what open sizing will get your opponent to fold and deter him from 3-betting. Every opponent is different, you will have to experiment.
In heads up play there are three supremely important things to remember: aggression, aggression, and aggression.
Here’s an example: In a live tournament last year I got heads up with about one-third the amount of chips as my opponent. I just started raising 2.5x from the button with maybe 80%. He kept folding! He didn’t adjust. In the BB position I figured out he would fold if he limped (which he did alot) and I raised 3.5x. This went on for a long time. I kept waiting for him to adjust, but he let me run him over like that until I got all his chips.

Maybe the reason why the EV difference between calling and shoving the turn was so narrow in the solver was that there was still one more street to play. Unless the river made the board even more coordinated than it already was, it was going to be difficult to lay this hand down even in the face of a shove on the river. In the absence of a King or a Ten on the river, this would be a tough laydown if villain shoves.

One would think that 16 combos of KT would be a cause for concern for both AQ and 66 on this QJ6 flop, and then be an even bigger cause for concern on the Ace turn. The 16 combos of AT should be enough to drive the math on this one, eh?

I accidentally deleted them from my PokerStars configurations. After the latest PokerStars updates Poker Tracker 4 no longer recognizes my PokerStars hand histories.

I’ve found it hard to focus during the play money online home game. It’s very different than investing hundreds of dollars in a live MTT. Maybe it’s having an audience that does the trick.
One technique I just started trying is I Twitch stream these games and invited a handful of my friends to watch. I speak my thoughts out loud for the Twitch stream. Even if no one is actually watching just the possibility that someone could is forcing me to focus.

MemberSeptember 8, 2020 at 7:43 pm in reply to: Using PokerTracker to track RecPoker Home GamesIt worked for me. I used the TunnelBear VPN because they don’t ask for your credit card info. I uninstalled TunnelBear right after downloading the full PokerStars client. Another thing is that if you tried to use PT4 with the .net client, you have to remove it from your PT4 databases and then autodetect the new one. To use Jim Reid’s lite HUD you have to go under HUD Options Configuration and set up PokerStars no limit Hold’em for RecPokerReid HUD. Then never accept the default again. It took me a little while to figure that out.

If I send in a video recording with a voice-over, I’ll have to be on my best behavior. No more cursing the air blue when V 3-bets me!????

In Windows 10 PokerStars supports the Win+G function. This launches the XBox Game Bar. The XBox Game Bar records your screen. You can unmute the mic and voice your comments during recording. This way you have a record of your thought processes. Some of my recordings contain the sound of the poker room “Awwwww….!!!”
Like all Microsoft apps, the Xbox Game Bar is a bit clunky. But hey, whaddya want for nothin’?
You can also use Alt+Win+R to get a direct screen recording.

<div>Do the ranges in the screenshot below look right to you? I’m assuming the shove caller has a tighter range than the initial shover. I’m also assuming neither player is a Kill Phil player shoving with wider than normal ranges.</div>
If these ranges are right, you were way behind and correct to fold.

Couldn’t get the screenshot into this post. The ranges were as follows:
First shover: TT+, AKo, AQs+
Shove caller: QQ+, AK
We had 24.39% equity.

I couldn’t get the screenshot to go in. When I tried I got the spinning wheel of death.
