They said they copied mspt, as it is run at running aces. All chips in the stack are removed and the target size does not change. They just verified at least 80k, and then removed all. Win if 80k or until survive to the end and it is the player’s responsibility to know when you got to 80. We had 51 entries, so 10 got 500 lammers and bubble got 100 lammers and there started with 765k chips in play. When someone reached milestone, then 9 seats remained. The first milestones were not much more than 80k was removed. Later, some of the removed stacks were maybe a little over 100k. I liked it, as there were never monster stacks and people not just folding to a win.

I guess if there is a question here, how does the milestone change strategy? And do you like milestone structure?

Great stuff as always, Chris!

I was watching and agreed with your fold. Curious if you would have called if FiveByFive would have folded ahead of you?

The first to jam had AKo and the 3bettor who called all-in had TT. The board had an A and I would have chopped.

Adam Friedman was stressing the importance of patience and quality of starting hands in limit game tourneys. I got the feeling he would not suggest playing either of those kind of hands. 1 piece of advice from him for people new to the games is start by learning what starting hands to play, which is what you are doing here. I didn’t play with him until much later in the tournament and he definitely was not playing a lot of hands.

I almost typed in the chat after the hand that I would have folded to shove before the river. When I called, I was planning to fold to river shove if the A did not come. When it did, I was hoping you were shoving. But your read was too good.

I was really curious what you had as you thought for a long time. On the river, I would have called most bets from you if you continued in the same fashion you had during the hand. But when you checked and mbabker led large, it looked like the river helped him and I was maybe ahead of you. I did not put you on a set as I blocked AA, JJ, which only left 44. Guess I should have included that. So my thinking is I was ahead and if the river did help mbabker, I could get a call from him. Definitely having 3 of us in there changed the dynamics. If I was heads up with you, I would have raised the flop or turn and been more suspicious of your hand when you called or re-raised, probably not putting all my chips in the hand.

Yes, that is a good size for me to be able to view comfortably and still be able to use my computer for other things if I need to. Full screen is great, but sometimes I need to check something or do some quick task and I don’t want to have to stop the video.
I thought maybe there was just a trick I didn’t know about.

I thought about a raise pre-flop, I surely would have 3bet if there had only been a single raise ahead of me. When these nightly series tournaments started, I feel I was being too aggressive with my pre-flop play and getting into big pots way too frequently. So, I have been adjusting my raise sizes and 3bet frequency, and pushing the aggression in my post flop play when I feel I am good or others don’t like their hands. That being said, I did fold also, but I like your reasoning for a 4bet.

That would have been interesting. Preflop, I liked my hand and was ready to call an all-in from anyone but mbabker based on stack sizes. When I called your 3bet, I was expecting you to go all-in if you bet on following streets. I’m not sure I would have called a small bet on the flop. I would have treated it like an all-in, as I would expect you to go all-in on the turn on anything besides an A. And if a club, Q, or J came, I would have been in a tougher spot as some of my backdoor possibilities would be there. As it was, I could call a small bet on the turn because I would not have to think about future cards on the river.
